Hallo,
ich habe hier Infos zu den Änderungen im Cowden Protokoll (von TS Products bzw. Nutramedix - leider nur auf englisch):
Dr. Cowden has made some changes to the Condensed Cowden Support Program (Effective Monday, February 14th, 2011):
· Samento will be used throughout the entire 6 months rather than intermittently.
· Continuing the Samento will help maintain a healthy immune system throughout the entire program.
· Houttuynia (HH) [pronounced: who-toon-ya] will replace Quina.
· There are numerous reported health benefits for Houttuynia (botanical name: Houttuynia Cordata) on the web.
· There will now be a total of 76 bottles included in the 6 months (previously 69), however your cost will remain the same.
· You will automatically receive the updated schedule with your next order of the program. Please make sure you are using the most current version, version 02.03.2011.
If you are currently mid-program on the original Condensed Cowden Support Program, see below for which day to switch to the new schedule that you have received.
IMPORTANT: If you have just received
· Month 2 - Switch to new schedule on Day 31
· Month 3 - Switch to new schedule on Day 61
· Month 4 - Switch to new schedule on Day 91
· Month 5 - Switch to new schedule on Day 121
· Month 6 - Switch to new schedule on Day 151
Here is an explanation from Lee regarding the changes:
Before Quina was replaced with Houttuynia, a sizable percentage of patients complained of feeling worse during the 12 days of Quina each time. Further energetic & other evaluation helped determine there were likely 2 causes for this but usually only one cause per patient. 1) Quina has a small amount of quinine in it and some patients are sensitive to quinine. 2) Some species of Bartonella appear to be resistant to Quina but resistance to Houttuynia is uncommon with Bartonella. In a group of patients who were having increased symptoms during their 12-day Quina rotation and Quina was switched to Houttuynia, the patients did much better. Then Quina was switched to Houttuynia in the Program in a group of Lyme patients who had never been on the Program before & they did very well. Thus, the reasons for that change.
As you may know, Eva Sapi’s group at the University of New Haven did in vitro research on Borrelia Burgdorferi & found that the biofilm-colony form of BB was completely inhibited by the combination of Banderol & Samento but not by either alone (Samento appears to be synergistic with other antimicrobial herbs against BB). Also Samento has an immune system adaptogenic effect, in my clinical experience. If a portion of the immune system is weak, Samento will strengthen it; if there is immune system over-activity or auto-immunity, Samento will usually calm it down. Therefore twice daily dosing with Samento 12.5 days on & 36 hours off during the entire program seemed appropriate to try. Indeed, when that approach was used, the Lyme patients seemed to do better. So now the empiric Program reflects what I & and few other bio-energetic practitioners have observed in Lyme patients over the last year.
