Titel:
Ein Revies zu CBT/GET in ME/CFS: CBT/GET ist nicht nur ineffektiv und nicht evidenzbasiert sondern auch petentiell schädlich für viele ME/CFS Patienten

Ebenso ganz gutes Review:

Beim IMD-Berlin: Bartonella henselae IGG AK
Journal of Translational Medicine | Full text | Azithromycin in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), an analysis of clinical data
The Placebo Response in the Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Hyong Jin Cho, MD, Matthew Hotopf, PhD and Simon Wessely, MD
“Conclusion: In contrast with the conventional wisdom, the placebo response in CFS is low.
Psychological-psychiatric interventions were shown to have a lower than placebo response, perhaps linked to patient expectations.”
und noch eines:
Unsuccessful trial of a CBT/GET programme in Bolton
Tom Kindlon, Information Officer (voluntary position)
Irish ME/CFS Association
Alastair Young from Bolton, and others, might be interested in the results of a Bolton trial that has not got much coverage, of a lifestyle management programme which “integrated the principles of promoting graded activities (exercise) and cognitive behavioural therapy in an informal setting”[1]. (People will recall that these are the treatments promoted in the editorial[2]). “The mean (SD) of SF36 and Chalder’s scale before the programme was 15.7 (4.8) and 8.8 (3.1) respectively and after the programme was 15.7 (5.4) and 6.1 (4.4). Using the T test, there was no significant difference between the mean values pre and post intervention.”
It is a very seductive theory that all one needs to do is to get CFS patients to do more and they will gradually get back to normal. However, what actually happens in reality is the important issue, and claims that CBT and GET "work" [2] are debatable.

und noch eines:
Große Belgische Multi-Centerstudie:
In Belgium, during 5 years, the Belgian Government subsidized 5 “CFS
Reference Centers” who treated patients solely with CBT/GET. They used
the Fukuda criteria for selection. Every year, 1.5 million Euro was
distributed to the 5 centers. This makes a total of 7.5 million Euro
during 5 years. 800 patients were treated during this period.
The Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre (KCE) reviewed the result
after 5 years (2009)( The KCE is a semi-governmental institution which
produces analyses and studies in different research of health topics.
Conclusion :
patients feeling better : 6 %
Patients feeling worse : 38 %
Patients with no result, not better nor worse : the remaining 56 %
The ultimate goal of the Reference Centers and their CBT/GET therapy
was not met: NOT ONE PATIENT RESUMED WORK.
This confirms that CBT/GET is ineffectively and possibly harmful.
The Belgian experiment with CBT and GET

*Majority of ME/CFS patients negatively affected by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy***
A recent pilot study (Koolhaas, et al., 2008, Netherlands) reports that only
2% of ME/CFS patients are cured by CBT,
while the greatest share (38%) are
adversely affected - most reporting substantial deterioration. It is
especially notable that employment and education are negatively affected.
This is in sharp contrast to the claims of psychiatrists and the Dutch
Health Council that 70% of patients improve. Previous studies have also
ignored or denied the negative affects of CBT on ME/CFS patients. The pilot
study, recently published in the Dutch Medical Magazine, Medisch Contact,
concludes that the previously reported claims of 70% improvement in ME/CFS
patients receiving CBT are vastly overstated and misleading.
The following summary is from page 4 of the Dutch-language study.

Hoffe Du kannst englisch!
